Opportunities with TeleSource Field Technician Position will be responsible for installing and maintaining optical fiber switches, electronics, and MAN access equipment in the POP. Will perform routine maintenance & fault isolation of transmission & Sonet equipment. Duties will also include test, turn-up and troubleshooting of DS1 through OC 192 circuits at the central office. Requirements: Must have experienced-based knowledge of central office switches and power plants, knowledge of NEBs requirements and TIRKS or similar systems, solid exposure to central office transmission equipment, and ILEC collocation standards. Must understand digital cross connects & how to read CLR's. Ideal candidates will have a strong installation background and hands-on experience with T-BERD test equipment, DMS250 or 5ESS-class switches and Gigabit Ethernet systems. Solid computer skills, and a general background in networking and Windows NT is a bonus. Candidate should understand installation of equipment (Fiber, Sonet, cabling, wire wrapping, run jumpers, cross connects. They will take a customer order (form from provisioning) then build, turn-up, and test the circuit to be sure the customer is connected and working properly.
